Bomb hoax to Kondathu Kaliamman temple in Tirupur, Man arrested

Police arrested Karthikeyan (47), a native of Appiyapalayam, for issuing a bomb hoax to Kondathu Kaliamman temple in Tirupur. The Kondathu Kaliamman Temple in Perumanallur area of Tirupur district is very popular among the devotees.

The Kondathu Kaliamman Temple in Perumanallur area of Tirupur district is very popular among the devotees.

The said person had called the Tamil Nadu Police Control room and the Kerala State Police that a bomb had been planted in the temple and that he was scared as the it would trigger an explosion, causing severe damage.

The police swung into action and evacuated the devotees from the temple premises, and searched the premises for any planted explosive device.

However, in the end the call was found to be a hoax. Following which the Police traced the call and arrested the mischief monger.

During investigation, it was revealed that the man had issued the hoax call allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Following this, karthikeyan was arrested by the Perumanallur police for issuing bomb hoax and create panic among the public and remanded in judicial custody.
