Police book Arjun Sampath under two sections for controversial tweets on Babri Masji demolition day

Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath has been booked under sections 153A and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for making controversial tweets against minorities on Babri Masjid demolition day.


Coimbatore: Police booked Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath under two sections 153A and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for making controversial tweets from his Twitter handle, against minorities on Babri Masjid demolition day.

Babri Masjid demolition day is being observed on December 6 every year. On this day of the demolition of the Babri Masjid, it is customary for the police to keep a strict vigil so that no untoward incident could take place.



Arjun Sampath postd his controversial tweet from his offiicial Twitter handle. The post read like this: "symbol of slavery was removed... It's the Day of Victory of the Hindus...December 6th. Let's take a pledge to build a Ram temple at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya,"



Sharing this tweet post of Arjun Sampath on social media, TADA Rahim wrote, "If you are right in saying that it was the day when the slave symbol was removed, what is wrong in me posting that it was the day on which the Babri Masjid was demolished and a conspiracy was hatched to erect a symbol of shame on the same site."

Police have registered a case against Arjun Sampath under sections 153A and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code for his controversial tweets.
