Police arrest duo involved in daring day-light burglary at Vadavalli, seize stolen jewellery cash and car

The Vadavallii police have arrested the duo who were involved in daring day light burglary of a house at Vadavalli. Stolen articles including 17.25 sovereigns of jewellery, Rs 1.85 lakh in cash and a car seized from them.



Coimbatore: Police have arrested the duo Aravind( 26) of Vadavalli and Muthusuruli (36) of Madurai in connection with the daring day light dacoity at Vadavalli. They seized 17.25 sovereigns of gold jewellery, Rs 1,85 lakh in cash and the car from the burglars.

The said duo entered the house of Periyasamy (49), who lives in Madhavaram near Vadavalli, when he was away. The burglars, used the opportunity when Maheshwari, wife of Periasamy went to take bath in the bathroom after locking the front door.

The burglar who gained entry into the house took away 17.25 sovereigns of gold jewellery, and Rs.1,85,000 in cash kept in the cupboard. The burglars also drove away the car which was parked infront of the house. The incident happened on November 28.

Maheswari was shocked to find the car taken away and jewellery and cash stolen from the cupboard. She raised an alarm and informed her husband who rushed back to the house.

Following a complaint, preferred by Periasamy, Police inspector Lenin Appadurai registered a case and took up investigation. The CCTV footage at the house was also scrutinized for vital clues.

Superintendent of Police Badri Narayanan has advised the public to keep numbers of the nearest police station and the number of the police control room in every house to be used during emergencies.
