Body of young woman found in canal near Coimbatore

The young deceased woman was identified as Nishanti who had reportedly left her house one night and did not return home for many days. Her parents had lodged a complaint with the Vadavalli police station. It was discovered that Nishanti was under medication for epilepsy. The police had registered a case and were on the lookout for Nishanti.



Coimbatore: Velmurugan hails from Veerakeralam Raj Naidu Layout near Vadavalli in Coimbatore. His younger daughter Nishanti suffers from epilepsy and has been under medication for the last few months. Nishanti reportedly left the house one night and did not return home for many days. Her parents had lodged a complaint with the Vadavalli police station.



The police had registered a case and were on the lookout for Nishanti. When the police received information that a young woman's body was floating in the Veerakeralam branch canal, the police reached the spot immediately to identify if the body recovered was that of Nishanti.

Following this, the police sent the body to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem. The police are investigating if Nishanti had fallen into the canal in a bout of seizure or if there was any other cause for her unnatural death.
