Action is needed to maintain peace in Coimbatore - SDPI files petition with City police commissioner

SDPI state president Nellai Mubarak, who submitted a petition to the Coimbatore city police commissioner, alleged that those who could not get the support of the people were trying to enter Tamil Nadu through an RSS rally.

Coimbatore: SDPI state president Nellai Mubarak led the party delegation to coimbatore city police commissioner and submitted a memorandum.

Mubarak later told reporters that he had urged him to take necessary steps to maintain peace in Coimbatore. No one is allowed to take the law into their own hands, he said. He said the recent incident of car explosion in Coimbatore was unfortunate.

Nellai Mubarak said the Mangalore cooker blast was a threat to social harmony. He urged people to take action in this matter without any discrimination irrespective of religion and language.

There is no need for an RSS rally in Tamil Nadu, he said. "Those who are unable to get the support of the people are trying to enter Tamil Nadu through RSS march," he alleged.

Criticising Annamalai for suffering from advertising mania, Mubarak accused the Tamil Nadu governor of thinking of running a parallel government.

"If the Governor wants to do good for Tamil Nadu, he should leave Tamil Nadu," he said.

Nellai Mubarak also said that he was trying to criminalise minorities in the name of NIA.
