G.K.D. Matric Higher Secondary School wins the 5th edition of the Murugappa Kovai Quotient Quiz


With a steady performance all through the evening, the 6 finalist teams of the 5thedition of the Murugappa Kovai Quotient Quiz battled it out for cycles, trophies, medals and various other prizes. Facing stiff competition from the other 5 finalist schools, the team “Not Just Spectators” comprising of S. Bragradeeswaran, A.S. Hari Krishna and D. Sathya Narayanan from G.K.D. Matric Higher Secondary School bagged the first position. The team from Vidya Niketan Public School comprising of Jeevesh, M. AshwathSibi and M. RagulEaswarand the team from Yuva Bharathi Public School comprising of Arun Ravi, R.V. Tharun Kumar and Vishnu Dhyanesh.Vwere the first and second runners-up.



A record total of 376 teams from schools in and around Coimbatore district participated in the written preliminary round, from which 6 teams were shortlisted for the grand finale. Members of the audience also won interesting prizes for the various questions asked by the Quizmaster Dr Navin Jayakumar. The prizes were distributed by Rajiv Moorthy, CEO of Shanthi Gears Ltd.

Organised by the Murugappa Group, the quiz was based on the various aspects of life, nature and history of Coimbatore and its surrounding regions, and on Murugappa Group. The event was attended, among others, by teachers, parents, quizzing enthusiasts and members of the media. Several social media activities were conducted around the Murugappa Kovai Quotient Quiz. This quiz contest was hosted yesterday, 4 February at the PSG College of Arts and Science auditorium.
