State-wide 'Thirukkural' painting competition to be held on behalf of The World Institute of Tamil Studies

A jury will select the best 15 paintings from all those who send in their entries from across the State and a cash prize of Rs. 40,000 each will be awarded to those selected.


Chennai: Artists from all across Tamil Nadu have been invited to participate in a painting competition related to the 'Thirukkural' to be held by the World Tamil Research Institute.

A press release issued in this regard stated, "A painting competition is going to be held under the auspices of the Thirukkural Painting Gallery of World Tamil Research Institute. Paintings related to the 'Thirukkural' theme will be collected from artists across Tamil Nadu and selected by a jury, and prizes will be given to the best 15 paintings. A prize money of Rs.40,000 each will be awarded to each work selected in this competition.

Artists interested in participating in this competition can submit their paintings in person or by post by 5.30 pm on November 30 to:
