'CM must transfer Coimbatore car blast case to NIA without any hesitation:' Coimbatore South BJP MLA, Vanathi Srinivasan

Coimbatore South MLA, Vanathi Srinivasan further questioned why the Chief Minister had not made a statement since the Coimbatore car blast incident to assure the people of Coimbatore. She also wanted to know why leaders of political parties like Thirumavalavan, Seeman and the Left parties were silent.

Coimbatore: A cylinder in a Maruti car exploded near Kottai Easwaran temple in the wee hours of October 23.

The deceased has been identified as Jameesha Mubin, a resident of Ukkadam.

Five persons from Ukkadam's G M Nagar area were arrested in connection with the incident after police investigation. Following this, based on the investigation conducted, they were booked under the UAPA and sent to jail. The police are investigating the explosion incident further.

BJP members offered prayers at the temple claiming that Kottai Easwaran had saved the people of Coimbatore from any untoward incident after the blast. BJP National Women's Wing President, Vanathi Srinivasan and others participated in the prayer event.

Speaking to reporters, Vanathi Srinivasan said that the initial attempt at the terror attack had been avoided by the grace of God.

"The conspiracy to kill hundreds of people has been foiled at the entrance of the Temple of the Lord and by the grace of The Lord, the people have been saved. So I have come to thank God. None of the prominent political leaders of Tamil Nadu have come to Coimbatore. It is highly condemnable that the Chief Minister has not come and visited here nor commented on the blast thus far.

As a legislator, I am getting the impression that the Chief Minister is still acting with the intention of taking revenge on Coimbatore. The Intelligence agencies in Tamil Nadu seem to be completely paralysed. The investigation should be handed over to the National Investigation Agency. There is a national link between those involved in the blast. The Tamil Nadu police alone cannot carry out this investigation and come to a complete conclusion."

Vanathi Srinivasan further stated, "We will announce this evening what the BJP will do to save the soil of Coimbatore in consultation with party functionaries. There are people in this Government who can talk of being a beggar given by minority people. So is the Chief Minister coming to the conclusion that the minority people can take the lives of other people for the sake of votes? It is not acceptable to demand that those who are involved in the act of terrorism be released outside.

Why are Thirumavalavan, Seeman and leaders of the Communist Party alliance silent on the Coimbatore bomb blast issue? The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu should come to Coimbatore and meet the people," she added.
