Fever camps held in 238 places in Coimbatore; Health teams visit schools and inspect

35-member teams, each comprising a doctor, nurse, medical staff and inspectors visited schools across Coimbatore. They provided medical treatment for those who had symptoms like fever, cough, cold etc.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation administration conducted Fever Camps at 168 places in the suburbs and 70 places in Corporation limits, totalling 238 places. The medical teams visited schools to provide medical treatment for symptoms like fever, cough and cold.

The District Health Department Deputy Director, Aruna told reporters, "In Coimbatore, the incidence of fever among children has increased over the past few days. Details of children admitted for fever are obtained from private hospitals. Hence, the Coimbatore Corporation administration conducted Fever Camps on September 22 at 168 places in the suburbs and 70 places in the Corporation.

35 teams were formed to aid the 'Fever Camp.' Each team consisted of a doctor, nurse, medical staff and examiners. These teams went to schools and provided medical treatment to those with symptoms such as fever, cough and cold. Students with symptoms of flu will continue to be monitored. The children were also taught on hygiene."
