A case has been registered on the complaint of Babu Raj (47), an animal welfare activist from Vedapatti in Coimbatore, at the Vadavalli police station.
Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, five stray dogs were poisoned to death on the Nagarajapuram-Perur Road in Coimbatore.
On Sunday night, some unidentified miscreants reportedly left poisoned food for the dogs and fled.
Thereafter five stray dogs died after consuming the food.
Following this, an animal welfare activist Baburaj (47), a resident of Vedapatti in Coimbatore, lodged a complaint with the Vadavalli police station. The Vadavalli police have registered a case in connection with the complaint and are investigating if the miscreants had poisoned the dogs to commit burglaries in the area or if there were other motives.
