The Kottur police arrested a worker who was involved in a drunken brawl and broke the glass of a Government bus. He was subsequently produced in Pollachi court and remanded in custody.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore-Pollachi-Kottur Government Bus No. 17 which left Kottur as usual on Thursday and was returning to Pollachi, approached the MaKaliamman temple near the Kottur Panchayat Office when the driver noticed a two-wheeler parked in the middle of the road.
Jagannathan (52) of Angalankurichi who was driving the Government bus requested the inebriated man to park his vehicle on the side of the road. But the man did not leave, got into an argument with the bus driver and conductor, and broke the window of the bus with a stone.
The driver, Jagannathan informed the Kottur police. Following this, the police arrested Panchalingam (39) from the same area who was involved in the drunken brawl. He was subsequently produced in Pollachi court and remanded in custody.
