Farah Khan Ali brings her exclusive collection of precious jewellery to Coimbatore for the first time
“Our products are conversation starters,” declares Farah Khan Ali, jewellery designer, and gemmologist. It could be a cocktail ring shaped like a flower with bees buzzing around it, an intricately set dragon ring or diamond chandeliers that resemble a waterfall. “My jewellery is fluid and alive. You won’t see any dead stones,” says the designer. Farah Khan’s line of jewellery has graced the red carpet at the Oscars, Golden Globe, Grammys, and the Emmys.
Beyonce, Serena Williams, Sania Mirza, and so many other celebrities buy jewellery from her. Recently, a Farah Khan Ali’s brooch worn by Kareena Kapoor turned heads at a star-studded event.
Khan has brought that very brooch all the way to Coimbatore along with her international Farah Khan brand line of limited edition jewels for the first time. She says she is thrilled to be in the city.
First time in Coimbatore
I am super excited. It’s my first visit to the city. I have heard great things about the place, and as a nature person, I am eager.
As a designer, it’s a new market I am going to show my jewellery to. For me going to a new place is about absorbing the place, tasting its food.... To me, the journey is more exciting than the destination
I have a strong connection with the South as my dad was born in Bengaluru. I have been to Hyderabad and Chennai as well and now I am in Coimbatore.
I plan to come back sometime in January when the South Indian festivities begin. I want to be here around that time just to relax. I’m a total foodie. I love South Indian fish preparations. And, appam, chutneys, and rasam. My childhood memories are associated with South Indian spices, the masalas, and mango pickle…
The collection
We do diamond jewellery set in 18 K gold. The collection has emeralds, rubies, south sea pearls, and diamonds set exquisitely in beautiful necklaces, chandelier earrings, bracelets, and brooches.
I deal with one of a kind of jewellery. Our forte is design, good quality and extremely fine finishes (which is comparable to international market products). The South market understands and values quality, finish, and design. I bring to Coimbatore a festive and opulent wedding collection in fine jewellery.

I am inspired by flora and fauna. I have a huge collection of bird-inspired motifs in earrings, rings…we have Colombian emeralds, Mozambique brooches… it’s a peaceful, aesthetic collection. Someone who is a jewellery lover or a gem lover will appreciate it. It’s not just about the style, but the way every stone is set perfectly and is finished to the T. Every gem has a fire and lustre.

People look for unusual designs. It can be big or small but they want something that is unique and eye –catching.
They can feel like a princess and feel good about owning that piece without having to pay too much for it.
Art in designs
I bring art, architecture, and culture of the places I travel to in my jewellery. I incorporated bits of the distinctive architecture of Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Agra that reflects the artistic and cultural milieu there.
Next, I am going to Ladakh and may well create motifs inspired from there. I pick up culture, history, and artistic motifs of the place I visit. I love taking photographs. These inspire me. Who knows, going forward, I might also have designs inspired from here.
The range
My jewellery starts from Rs.10, 000 onwards. I have something suitable for everyone. You will find something for a 13-year-old or for someone who is 80.
Everyone can enjoy a Farah Khan product. We have everyday items such as beautiful bracelets, pendants, rings and earrings that are affordable.
