The Minimalist Uniform Wares + MoMA M40 Watch

Uniform Wares + MoMA M40 is a minimalist watch created by London-based designers Uniform Wares in collaboration with MoMA. The timepiece is based off of the watchmaker’s most popular selling M-Line case architecture. The primary focus was to further reduce and refine the original M40 model while taking inspiration from the brand’s original 100 Series watch.

Michael Carr, creative director of Uniform Wares, states, “The pared back detailing is an exercise in discretion and versatility and makes it the perfect wardrobe staple for men and women with an appreciation for contemporary design.” The watch was designed and developed entirely within Uniform Wares’ London studio, and made in Switzerland.

The watch is a two-hand complication which features a stripped back dial design with printed indices and tonal details in seven variations of black and grey. The timepiece utilizes a PVD black satin brushed case with a bead-blasted bezel. Uniform Wares + MoMA is etched on the caseback finished with a white enamel infill.
