The second phase of the pulse polio immunisation drive will be organised at 1,581 centres across the district on February 21. This includes 244 centres in the city and 1,337 at the outskirts. Thirty-nine centres will function at bus stands, railway stations, places of worship, in addition to 27 mobile units. A total of 6,531 volunteers and staff from various government departments will be involved in the drive.

According to the office of the Deputy Director of Health Services, a total of 3,22,482 children aged below five years were administered with vaccine during the first phase on January 17.
