Voting machine models to be ready in 10 days

District Collector Archana Patnaik has assured that voting machine models will be made within 10 days after checking those that have arrived from Bihar on Friday.

It may be noted that 7,052 electronic ballot units and 4,000 control units arrived in Coimbatore last week for the 2016 Assembly elections. With the help of four engineers from Bharat Electronic Limited (BEL), models of the units were being made under the monitoring of officials from the Election Commission of India.

An inspection was made by District Collector, along with representatives from various political parties. After the inspection, the Collector said that 1,600 models have been made so far and the rest would be completed within 10 days.
