Case filed against owner for straying cattle on the road - Coimbatore police issues warning

In Coimbatore, corporation employees caught the cattle roaming on the roads and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on their owners. Similarly, the police have warned that a case will be registered if the cattle are found roaming on the roads.


Coimbatore: Four cows and a horse were caught roaming on the roads and taken to the VOC Zoo by the corporation staff.

They are roaming on cattle on the traffic roads in Coimbatore Corporation. There is a risk of accidents in the area. Therefore, a fine of Rs 10,000 each will be imposed on the owners concerned if they do not roam on the roads of Coimbatore. The corporation had warned that if the cattle come back to the road for the second time, they will be caught and handed over to the gaushala.

However, the movement of cattle on the roads of Coimbatore city has not reduced. In this situation, the corporation received complaints that cattle were roaming on the road in Saramedu and J J Nagar areas under ward 62. Following this, the corporation staff immediately rushed to the spot.



At that time, four cows and a horse were rounded up and caught roaming in the middle of the road.



They were transported by corporation employees in vehicles to the V.O.C. Zoo in Coimbatore.

A fine of Rs 10,000 each was collected from the concerned cattle owners. However, cattle roaming on the roads of Coimbatore Corporation continue to be a regular occurrence.

The city police have issued a notification in this regard. “The cattle rearers have to tie it up at home and rear them. Don't let it wander on the road. Strict action will be taken against the owner of the case.”
