Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar has declared August 29 as a local holiday for government offices and educational institutions in Coimbatore district on account of Onam festival and instead will be working on September 2, 2023.
Coimbatore: The District Collector of Coimbatore has declared a local holiday on October 29 in view of onam festival.
In a statement, the district collector said,
Coimbatore: State government offices and educational institutions in Coimbatore district will be declared a local holiday on August 29 on account of Onam, 2023.
Onam will function as a full-fledged working day on 02.09.2023 (Saturday) for offices and educational institutions instead of the local holiday on 29th.
Since this local holiday does not fall under the Provisions of the Exchange Instruments Act 1881 (Negotiable Instruments Act 1881), the Treasuries and Subordinate Treasuries in the District will work with specific staff in order to look after the urgent matters of state security when declaring a local holiday. This is stated in the report.
