Traffic diversions effected on major city roads in view of the President Droupadi Murmu’s visit on Feb 18 and 19

In view of this, traffic regulations have been effected from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm tomorrow (Saturday) and from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm the day after (Sunday).


Coimbatore: Traffic diversions have been effected on major roads on the forthcoming Saturday and Sunday ahead of President Droupadi Murmu's visit to the city to participate in the Shivaratri festival to be held at the Isha Yoga Centre.

Even as Sivarathri celebrations are scheduled for tomorrow at Isha Yoga Center, President Droupadi Murmu is slated to attend the event.

In view of this, traffic regulations have been effected from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm tomorrow (Saturday) and from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm the next day (Sunday).

Accordingly, heavy vehicles are not allowed to enter Coimbatore city from Avinashi via Chinniampalayam. These vehicles can enter the city via L&T bypass Road, Chinthamanipudur, and Ramanathapuram.

From Coimbatore city, heavy vehicles plying on Avinashi Road can pass through Anna statue, Sungam, Singanallur, L&T Bypass Road. Heavy, and cargo vehicles plying outside the city via Kalapatti Road will not be allowed to enter the airport junction. Alternatively, all those vehicles can pass through Kalapatti four Road.

Heavy vehicles plying from Sathy Road and Saravanampatti areas to Avinashi Road and Trichy Road can pass through Ganapathy, Gandhipuram flyover, Race Course, and Singanallur.

Vehicles coming through Marudhamalai Road and Thadagam Road will not be allowed to pass through Cowley Brown Road and Chinthamani.

Alternatively, those vehicles can pass through GCT, Bharathi Park Road, Vadakovai flyover, Gandhipuram, Race Course, Sungam, Singanallur.

Those travelling in cars and other vehicles should change their journey and plan. The Coimbatore traffic police have also announced that only vehicles going to the airport, railway station and hospitals will be allowed to enter the city from Thottipalayam pirivu.
