The District administration has put preventive measures in place for 'darshans' at Shiva temples on account of Maha Shivarathri.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran has asked people affected by Covid-19, including children and the elderly to avoid climbing the hill to visit temples for 'darshan' on the occasion of Maha Shivarathri. He issued a press release regarding the preventive measures taken by the administration.
The District Administration has made special arrangements for the public to worship at various temples including Velliangiri Temple, Pattieswarar Temple and Kottai Eswarar Temple on the occasion of Maha Shivarathri in Coimbatore district.
Taking into account the prevailing circumstances and public welfare on account of Covid-19 waves, devotees who have been affected by Covid-19, children, the elderly and the sick have been asked to avoid temples or trekking up to temples for darshans..
"The public should avoid trekking to hill temples and follow standard guidelines prescribed by the Government. They must also avoid gathering in places of worship without face shields and must follow social distancing.”
