Mutton, beef, poultry and pork shops will be closed on 15.01.2022 on Thiruvalluvar Day and 18.01.2022 on Vallalar Ramalinga Adigalar Memorial Day in the areas under Coimbatore Corporation.
Coimbatore: The Government of Tamil Nadu has banned the slaughter of goats, cows and chickens and the sale of meat on the forthcoming days of ‘Thiruvalluvar Day’ on 15.01.2022 and ‘Vallalar Ramalinga Adigalar Memorial Day’ on 18.01.2022.
Therefore, it has been ordered to close the mutton, beef, poultry and pork shops in the areas under the Coimbatore Corporation.
The Ukkadam Goat Slaughterhouse, Singanallur Goat Slaughterhouse, Ganapathy Cow Slaughterhouse, Podanur Chettipalayam Cow Slaughterhouse, Thudiyalur Goat Slaughterhouse and the Corporation's butcher shops operating under the Corporation are not to be operating on that day.
Violators of the order will be prosecuted by the corporation authorities, said Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer Raja Gopal Sunkara.
