Salem Division of Southern Railway announces no advance reservation and cancellation of rail tickets at railway stations tomorrow

In view of the state-wide full lockdown on January 9, Sunday, the PRS counters and IUTS counters in Salem Division of Southern Railway will remain closed for advance reservation and cancellation of tickets on Sunday.


Coimbatore: The Salem Division of Southern Railway in a press release has announced that there will be no advance reservation and cancellation of rail tickets at railway stations tomorrow.

The release mentioned “In view of the state-wide full lockdown on January 9, Sunday announced by the Government of Tamil Nadu to contain the spread of Covid-19, the PRS (Passenger Reservation System) counters and IUTS (Integrated Unreserved Ticketing System) counters in Salem Division of Southern Railway will remain closed for advance reservation and cancellation of tickets on Sunday.”

“Hence, passengers are advised not to approach PRS Centres for advance reservation or cancellation of tickets. However, current reservation counters will function and current reservation and cancellation of tickets for journey commencing on January 9, can be done at counters over Salem Division,” added the release.
