The met department has cautioned that Tamil Nadu will receive heavy rains on November 9, 10 and 11, and the Tamil Nadu government has asked the public to take precautionary measures. Coimbatore: As the northeast monsoon intensifies, district-wise helpline numbers have been announced.
Also, the government has warned of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu on November 9, 10 and 11, and the Tamil Nadu government has asked the public to take precautionary measures and stay safe this season.
According to that announcement as there is a risk of flooding, phone numbers of departments such as the Department of Police, Fire and Rescue Services, and the Electricity Board must be kept at ones disposal. It is advised to be careful of handling of electrical switches, gas cylinders and the public is cautioned not to attempt to cross a stream without knowing the depth of the floodwaters.
Other cautionary measures that the public is advised to adhere to include when leaving the house, it is suggested to place a bundle of sand on the toilet bowl of the house to prevent sewage from entering. Also, it is advised that if the water touches the electric wires one must not walk on it. Food contaminated with floodwater should strictly not be consumed.
