Chennai - Coimbatore Shatabdi Express will start running from July 5th: Southern Railway announcement.
Coimbatore: Trains from Coimbatore to Chennai were suspended due to lockdown. Special trains to Mumbai and other states were also halted.
The Southern Railways said the Chennai CoimbatoreShatabdiExpress will start running from the 5th of this month. TheShatabditrain, which was halted due to the Coronavirus lockdown, will resume operations from July 5.
In a press release issued by the Salem Divisional Railway Administration it said the Chennai-CoimbatoreShatabdiSpecial (No.06029) and the Coimbatore-ChennaiShatabdiSpecial (No.06030), which were halted from March due to coronavirus infection, will resume on July 5. Similarly, Kerala-Kochuveli-Karnataka Special, Banaswadi Special (No. 06319) will resume on July 8 and Banaswadi-Kochuveli Special (No. 06320) on July 9.
Weekly special trains on Coimbatore route extended:
The weekly special train (No. 02877) from Howrah, West Bengal to Ernakulam, Kerala will be extended from July 3 to September 25 and the weekly special train (No. 02878) from Howrah to will be extended from July 5 to September 27. The weekly special train (No. 02521) from Baroni, Pokhara, to Ernakulam will be extended from July 5 to August 30.
The Ernakulam-Barauni Weekly Special (No.02522) will be extended from July 9 to September 3. The weekly special train (No. 02511) from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh to Kochuveli in Kerala and the Kochuveli-Gorakhpur weekly special train will run from July 1 until further notice.
