Coimbatore: Maruthamalai Murugan Temple is one among the 7 auspicious temples for Lord Murga according to the Hindus. Every year, the Thaipusam festival is celebrated with a grand ceremony. Pilgrims from across districts carry Kavadi and Paal Kudam to the temple to fulfill their offerings to lord Muruga. This year's Thaipusam festivities are about to begin tomorrow with a flag hoist between 7 to 8 am in the morning.
