Only two wheelers and ambulances will be allowed to use the Kavundampalayam road since the bridge work is under process.
Coimbatore: Due to the ongoing construction process for the bridge in Kavundampalayam, a traffic route alternative has been announced by the government in the Metupalayam road.
District collector Rajamani on an address about this said that: All vehicles which are opting to travel from Coimbatore - Mettupalayam are requested to use the alternative path suggest by the government from January 12th.
Further in his address District Collector Rajamani said that the alternative routes which are announced now can be used for two months and that the government and private buses will run in the newly proposed alternative new route.
New alternative route from Coimbatore towards Metupalayam:
Saibaba Temple - Thadagam - Velandipalayam - KNG Pudur - Kanuvai - Appanaikampalayam - Thudiyalur - Mettupalayam.
Or at an alternative route of:
Saibaba Temple - Thadagam - Velandipalayam - KNG Pudur - GN Mills - Thudiyalur - Mettupalayam.
Or another option of:
TVS - GCT - Thadagam Road - Kanuvai - Thudiyalur - Mettupalayam.
The routes for reaching Coimbatore from Mettupalayam:
Thudiyalur - Vellikinaru - Urumandampalayam - Udayampalayam - Manikarampalayam - Ganapathy - Gandhipuram.
Or Gounder Mills - Urumandampalayam - Udayampalayam - Manikarampalayam - Sanganur Eru Company - Gandhipuram.
Coimbatore District Collector Rajamani also said that only access to the road near Kavundampalayam bridge has been given only for ambulances and two-wheelers.
