New Delhi: The PM addressed the nation today at 10 AM and in his speech he acknowledged that the 21 day lockdown had indeed affected the economy greatly, but it had helped the people even more. In the present state of the pandemic, he said it was better to continue the present model and announced the extension of the lockdown until May 3.

In the speech he also said that the restrictions would be tightened until April 20 following which some leniency can be expected for districts that show improvement.
Falling in line with the PM's announcement the Indian Railways has also announced that train services would stand cancelled until May 3, 2020. Only goods trains will be operated during this time period.
The IRCTC had kept bookings open after April 15th and now following the announcement, all bookings have been canceled until May 3, 2020.
