Indian Railways has hence resumed booking tickets from April 15th. Bookings will be made at the reservation centres from April 15th morning. A railway official said, "There is a clear indication from the Centre that the lockdown will not be extended beyond April 14. The passenger reservation was closed till then. If there are passengers who wanted to cancel their tickets but could not do it due to the lockdown, the Railways has relaxed the rules to allow cancellation and refund till June 21, 2020,” Pradeep Sharma, PRO of the Ahmedabad division of Western Railway, told BusinessLine.
Similarly airline ticket Bookings are showing that bookings are open from April 15. With the Centre clarifying that the lockdown will not be extended beyond April 14, these measures seem to confirm that we might not get an extension of lockdown beyond April 14th, 2020.
The online booking systems of private airlines, including SpiceJet, Indigo and GoAir, were showing bookings from April 15 onward for domestic travel. However, there is no official statement so far from the airlines or IRCTC about the same.
