Tirupur: In a press release today, District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan said that section 144 will be implemented in the district as a preventive measure for the spread of corona infection.
In the release, he said, all public congregation of more than 5 persons in public places, public and private transport movements during the period from 06.00 PM of 24.03.2020 (Tuesday) to 06.00 AM of 01.04.2020 (Wednesday) is prohibited.
He also gave the following orders on 144 ban
1. All shops, commercial establishments, TASMAC shops, shall close their operations subject to the exceptions indicated in the reference cited G.O.
2. All Government Offices, autonomous bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, shall close, subject to the exception indicated in the reference cited G.O.
3. Public Transport services including operation of private buses, stage/contract carriages, State Transport Undertakings, taxis, share-autos, auto-rickshaws and ride-sharing services including air-conditioned bus services of State Transport Corporation and private operators will not be permitted. However, exempted categories indicated in the reference cited G.O. will be permitted.
4. All Inter-State and inter-district services shall not be operated.
5. Amma Unavagam will continue to function
6. Essential services like groceries, milk, meat, vegetables, medical, hospitals, and all emergency services like ambulances will be available as usual.
