Coimbatore: The Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Additional Chief Secretary Atulya Mishra has issued a GO to facilitate change of 'Patta' online.
The TN government has been consistently working to provide online services for the general public for patta name change. Presently, the applicant had to visit the Tahsildar's office, in person and submit the copies of the necessary documents for changing name in the patta which is a ownership deed, a proof for the land they own.
Announcing the online facility for patta and the GO issued for implementing the same, the CM told on Wednesday, "The government has now launched a new system, to obtain online 'patta'. Upon completing registration, the concerned parties can complete the name change of the 'patta', through online. Unlike the previous system, the concerned parties do not have to visit the Tahsildar's office to change the name on the patta."
Briefing on the process, the CM explained that the land owners and buyers have to fill all adequate information in an online form, before kick starting the process of name change. When the online process is complete, the new details will be updated online and both the buyer and the seller will receive the information as an SMS on their mobile phone.
