Indirect auction at Mulanur regulated market - Sale of cotton for Rs 1.54 crore

The cotton was sold for Rs 1.54,61,346 in an indirect auction held at Mulanur regulated market near Dharapuram in Tirupur district. The maximum price for cotton is Rs. 100 per quintal. 8128 and the minimum price is Rs. 6500 was fixed.


Coimbatore: Indirect auction of cotton was held at Mulanur Regulated Market in Tirupur district. Of these, 715 farmers from Tiruppur, Karur, Trichy, Dindigul, Erode and Coimbatore districts had brought cotton.



Traders from Tirupur, Dindigul, Erode, Salem and Coimbatore districts also participated in the indirect auction for the purchase of cotton.

The maximum price for cotton was fixed at Rs.8128 per quintal, the minimum price was Rs.6,500 and the average price was Rs.7,350.



The total quantity of cotton is 7083 bags (quintal 2177.96). These were purchased through indirect auctions by 29 traders for Rs.1,54,61,346/kg.

This information was given by Senior Secretary Tirupur Sales Committee Kannan (in-charge). Superintendent Sivakumar had made arrangements for the auction.
