The need of PLC and SCADA in Industrial automation sector with few industrial case studies, and demonstration of RSLogix 5000 tool for design and programming environment platform were showcased.
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organised a National level Workshop on “Industrial IoT using PLC and SCADA†on 11.08.2023.
Dr.E.Govindakumar, gave the welcome address. Dr.Tamilselvan briefed about the workshop. Dr.V.Kumar chinnayan Principal, KCE highlighted about the innovations happening in the power sector field and importance of industrial automation using PLC, SCADA and IoT technologies. Also he appreciated the event co-ordinators for selecting recent trend topics for conducting workshops.
Then session started with resource person R.Saravanakumar talk, he delivered the need of PLC and SCADA in Industrial automation sector with few industrial case studies, and he demonstrated RSLogix 5000 tool for design and programming environment platform.
In the afternoon session, P.Gajendran, Assistant Professor-EEE conducted the hands- on session in WPL Soft tool for Delta PLCs, then demonstration of an IoT application is done in our B&R laboratory, followed by participants are visited our control system laboratory there we displayed various types of PLCs, input devices and actuators. Then R.Saravanakumar explained the various topologies used in the critical proceeding plants, flow of PLC programming and finally he gave few tips to continue the learning of PLC programming skills.
Then participants are shared their feedback about the workshop. They asked to conduct similar kind of workshops. Also they suggested detailed of the workshop for better coverage of the topics.
In the Final session resource person, distributed the certificates to the participants. The workshop ended with the vote of thanks delivered by the Dr.S.Vimalraj.
