The School of Post Graduate Studies, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, conducted a Workshop on the Criteria and Conditions for Patenting Inventions on 15.07.2023 at its Online Academy. This workshop was intended to educate students on the importance of their inventions and to equip them with the steps required to submit patent applications in a timely manner.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore's School of Post Graduate Studies organised a workshop on the requirements and conditions for patenting inventions on July 15, 2023, at its online academy.
This workshop was intended to educate students on the importance of their inventions and encourage them to submit patent applications in time.
Dr.N.Senthil, Dean, School of Graduate Studies welcomed the participants and briefed about the workshop. Dr.V.Balasubramani, Controller of examinations, TNAU inaugurated the Patent Workshop and delivered the Inaugural Address.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar Singh, Assistant Controller of Patents and Designs, Patent Office, Chennai, discussed the various facets of Intellectual Property rights in India and their various types, including copyright, trademarks, patents, geographical indications, plant varieties, industrial designs, and semiconductor integrated circuit layout designs. He congratulated TNAU for submitting 15 applications for the patenting procedure and obtaining 5 patents. Meena provided participants with hands-on training about patent search instructions. Dr.N.Natarajan, Co-ordinator (Patent Cell) proposed the vote of thanks.
