'Aruvi Readers Circle' organizes State-level inter-collegiate Tamil poetry competition

Besides, certificates and mementoes were given away to all the participants who read out their poems on the dais in the competition.


Coimbatore: "Aruvi Readers Circle", conducted a state-level inter-collegiate Tamil poetry competition in the city last Sunday and gave away cash prizes of Rs 2500, Rs 1500, Rs 500, and Rs 250 and certificates of merit to the respective four winners.



Ko. Prakashraj, a student of C.M.S College of Education bagged the first prize, Paa. Krishnammal from Sri Parasakthi College for Women, Coutralam, Thenkasi, won the second prize, and Aa.Su. Rithanya Charumathi from P.S.G College of Arts and Science bagged the third prize, while Maa. Sundar from the same institution won the fourth prize.

Besides, certificates and mementoes were given away to all the participants who read out their poems on the dais in the competition.

Poet, Dr M. Nagarajan, the chief guest on the program, delivered the special address. In his speech, he emphasized that only the poems which give readers a clear understanding of contemporary socio-political issues can transcend generations. Ramkumar of Aruvi Readers Circle welcomed the gathering and Sakthi coordinated.
