50 students from Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) stuck 1760 flags on the banner of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' within 8 minutes and 38 seconds in an attempt to create a record at the SKCET campus in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: In a unique commemoration of India's 75th Independence Day, 50 students from Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) attempted to earn a spot in the India Book of Records for sticking 1760 flags on the banner of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' within 8 minutes and 38 seconds at Sri Krishna Hall on the SKCET campus in Coimbatore.
The SKCET team which showcased a well-organized and well-executed team effort is expected to earn a spot in the India Book of Records for their feat, in line with the nation’s campaign ‘Har Ghar Tiranga.'
‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the 'Tiranga' home and hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence.
S Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee, Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology congratulated the students for their concerted efforts and intuitive planning. The SKCET team was also lauded by Dr. K Sundararaman, CEO, SKCET. Dr. J Janet, Principal, SKCET was the brains behind the effort and coordinated the event with the Heads of the Departments of SKCET.
