Students from Coimbatore Government schools achieve big at Kala Utsav!

Government school students from Coimbatore who took part at various events in Kala Utsav achieve big! Selected for competing at the national level event.


Coimbatore: Kala Utsav, is a competitionn that happens at district and interstate levels selects participants to compete at the national level event. The top 3 position winners of the interstate event will be allowed to participate at the next level.

Under the joint education scheme, students from classes 9th to 12th are given a chance to express their individual talents every year at the Kala Utsav compition which happens at 3 levels district, state and national.

This year, the Kala Utsav compition for the first time took place online as schools still remain closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Kala Utsav competitions were held at the district educational television organization centre from 8th to 15th December.

In a total of 9 different events that happened at the Kala Utsav, Kiruthika a 11th grade student from Kinathukadavu goverment school participated and won first place at the sand sculpture competition.

In the traditional singing competition, 12th grade students Yashwanth from RK. Rangamal higher secondary school and Dhanushiya from Ondipudur girls higher secondary school secured first place in both their respective categories.

These 3 students who secured top spots at the interstate Kala Utsav competition are now selected to participate at the national level.

It is a special achievement as students from Coimbatore district will now be participating at a national event after a long wait of 4 years.
