Tamil Nadu School Education Department, Coimbatore Education District and Annai Violet Matriculation School jointly organized the 64th Republic Day Celebrations 2023-24 at the GKD Matriculation School Ground, Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Over 1,000 students from more than 30 government and private schools from Coimbatore district participated in the 64th Republic Day celebrations north mini-central athletics competition for the year 2023-24.
The Tamil Nadu School Education Department in association with Coimbatore Education District and Annai Violet Matriculation School will jointly organise the 64th Republic Day Celebrations 2023-24 at the GKD Matriculation School Ground, Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore for two days.
Anbuvadivu, principal of Annai Violet Matriculation School, welcomed everyone at the opening ceremony, which began with tamil thai greetings.
Coimbatore Chief Educational Officer Balamurali hoisted the national flag. Prem Kumar, Secretary, Annai Violet Matriculation School, hoisted the northern flag.
The students of government and private schools, who will continue to participate in the competitions, accepted the parade honours.
District Education Officer Jaishankar, District Physical Education Inspector Kumaresan, GKD School Principal Indira and others lit the Olympic torch, carrying it in their hands one by one and carrying it around the stadium and hoisting it on the pole.
Following this, the students participating in the competitions took the pledge. The two-day event will include 100 metres, 400 metres, 1000 metres, 1500 metres, 5,000 metres, hurdles, relay, etc.
Medals and trophies will be presented to the winners. More than 1000 students from more than 30 government and private schools from Coimbatore district are participating.
Violet Matriculation School Joint Secretary Premchand, Private Schools District Education Officer Belraj, Physical Education Teacher Thangamar and other teachers participated in the inaugural function. In the end, Violet Matriculation School Tamil teacher Indurani thanked him.
