Vaishnavi, a student of Visual Communication at a private college in Coimbatore won three medals – two gold and one silver – at the National-level Yoga Championship held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Coimbatore: A Coimbatore student, Vaishnavi, who returned after winning two gold and one silver medal at the National-level Yoga competition held in Rajasthan was given a rousing welcome on arriving back at Coimbatore.
Vaishnavi is a student of Visual Communication at a private college in Coimbatore and has participated in various yoga competitions at national and international levels and won prizes.
The third Senior National-level Yoga Championship began in Jodhpur, Rajasthan on June 19.
Vaishnavi represented Tamil Nadu in the three-day event and won three medals, including two gold medals.
Yoga players from around 28 states across the country participated in the finals at Jodhpur.
Vaishnavi's feat of bagging three medals made Tamil Nadu proud.
Even as Vaishnavi arrived at the Coimbatore airport from Jodhpur, her parents, relatives and college students gathered to accord her a rousing welcome.
Vaishnavi, who has many achievements in yoga from a very young age interacted with the media. "At the National Yoga Championship held in Jodhpur, I won two gold medals – one gold each in artistic and rhythmic categories. I have also won a silver medal in the team event on behalf of the Tamil Nadu team. I will continue to participate in the tournament to be held in Goa. I aim to participate in the Asian Games and undergo intensive training," stated an elated Vaishnavi.
