Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University's (TNAU) inter-collegiate sports tournament kick-started grandly on Friday. The ten-day tournament is being scheduled from December 2 to 14.
In the inaugural function Dr. V Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, TNAU unfurled the national flag at the University's stadium in Coimbatore.
All sports events between 10 colleges in the first zone have begun. 4000 students of the four zones will participate in various events from December 10 to 14.

The student march past was accepted and the Olympic torch lit by the Vice-Chancellor.
The oath was taken by the student of every college under the leadership of the Games Secretary. Dr. N Maragatham, Dean (Center for Student Welfare) and the Deans of all colleges participated in the event.

The Vice-Chancellor delivered the Chief Guest address and Dr. J P Desiga Srinivasan, Assistant Director of Physical Education proposed the vote of thanks.
