Praveen Thiyagarajan, a third-year B.Com student from Karunya Deemed University in Coimbatore has been selected by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association to captain the under-19 Tamil Nadu cricket team.
Coimbatore: Praveen Thiyagarajan, a third-year B.Com student from Karunya Deemed University has been selected by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association to captain the under-19 Tamil Nadu cricket team.
Praveen, a native of Ooty lost his parents at a young age and faced much discouragement and disappointments, and yet firmly stuck to his passion for cricket. He had to strive hard and adapt to new methods in cricket to stand head over shoulders above the other players which helped him bag the coveted Captain position.
The Chancellor of Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences congratulated Praveen and wished him well to win more laurels through excellent performances, while leading the under-19 Tamil Nadu cricket team.
The college management has awarded Praveen a complete scholarship for his studies, as a sign of appreciation to encourage students to participate in state and national sports.
