A total of 1266 students from 172 schools from various districts including Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and The Nilgiris participated in these competitions and showcased their talents.
Coimbatore: As many as 1266 students participated in the state-level sports competitions in Pollachi on the occasion of Kamaraj's birth anniversary.

The Pollachi Chess Association organized state-level multi-skill competitions for school children.

There were six types of competitions including painting competition, elocution competition, essay competition, 'Kolam' competition, 'Thirukkural' recitation etc. A total if 1266 students of 172 schools from various districts including Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and The Nilgiris participated in these competitions and showcased their talents.

In order to create awareness among the students about the Chess Olympiad to be held in Chennai, the eighth district-level chess competition was held. More than 200 school students participated in the competition which was held in eight rounds. About 120 winners were presented with trophies and certificates.
