Owing to her outstanding skills and dexterity, Nagajothi has been honoured with the Doctorate in Record-Breaking by the Universal Tamil University.
Coimbatore: A student of the PSGR Krishnammal College for Women in Coimbatore has entered the Future Kalam’s Book of Records for her excellence as a Silambam artist.
Nagajothi who is pursuing her second year in Economics at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Peelamedu in Coimbatore is known for her dexterity in Silambam and brought many laurels to the college. In a record-breaking event held in Madurai on 27 November, 2021, among the six batches competing in the 'Silambam,' event, Nagajothi has been appreciated for her distinguishing performance during the course of the event.
Six batches comprising 4 to 5 players in each batch with a total of 40 contestants participated in the event. The contestants were from various districts of Tamil Nadu. During her performance, N Nagajothi skillfully withstood the brandishing movements of Silambam for an amazing ninety minutes, outperforming all other competitors.

Nagajothi is trained by Kanagaraj who is one of the coaches at the National Silambam Federation of India. She had practised six hours a day with immense dedication for the competition. Nagajothi hails from a humble family and opines that without her mother's encouragement it would not have been possible for her to have practised so vigorously.
