This is the third consecutive overall championship Trophy for team Tamil Nadu at South Zone inter-university games.

The meet was hosted by Behra Subhakar Polytechnic College, Visakhapatnam in which Tamil Nadu secured 71 overall points to emerge champions in men's category, while Karnataka with 31 points secured runners position in the competition.
V Surya, K.S.S. Krishanth, G Dinesh Kumar, N.R. Harish, N Prasannakumar, Logesh, P.S. Harikrishnan, K Nanda Kiran, D Sathya Moorthy, A.S. Sabarigirivasan, A.J Nagul, K.M. Mahamed Riyas and P Prabakaran were the players from Coimbatore division representing the State and helped Tamil Nadu to bag overall championship.
In the Women's category, P Linga Dharani and P Lalitha Devi emerge winners of chess competition held as part of the games,bwhile R Kaveri bagged silver in 4*100 mts relay.
