Jewellery snatched

Two unidentified persons aged about 25 to 30 years sneaked into a house near Negamam and fled with three-and-a-half sovereigns gold jewellery and Rs. 40,000.

The incident took place on Monday when house owner N. Gopal (40) went out of the house to check his cows. The police said that he left the house unlocked when the duo managed to get in. They took the money from the almirah and snatched the chain from Gopal’s wife Vasantha.

Inspector S. Ravi said that three special teams have been formed to nab the accused. Images of the duo were caught in the CCTV in the victim’s house. A forensic officer, and dog squad were also pressed into service.

The Negamam police registered a case.
