SMS on 8 bank holidays a fake

Hyderabad: Messages being circulated through social media and Whatsapp say that all banks will be closed from March 24 to 31 for Holi on Thursday followed bt Good Friday and fourth Saturday. There are also rumours of bank strike from March 28 to 31.

Most of the bank associations, when contacted by DC, said false information was being circulated. All India Bank Employees' Association  national general secretary B Seetha Rambabu said Holy was declared on March 23.

“Telangana government has denied sanctioning holiday on the occasion of Good Friday on March 25 and Banks will be working,” he said.

He said, “IDBI bank employees have given a strike call from March 28 to 31. Other banks will not participate in the strike and will function normallt.”

ICICI bank would provide services beyond bank timings in two branches at Hyderabad.
