Appointed: Union Ministry of Textiles


Raja Muthusamy Shanmugam (51), a Tirupur-based apparel exporter, has been appointed by the Union Ministry of Textiles as a non-official member of the Board of Governors in Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management set up by the Centre.

Mr. Shanmugam is currently a State council member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and chief mentor of NIFT-TEA Knitwear Institute set up by Tirurpur exporters.

He was earlier a member of Cotton Advisory Board under Union Ministry of Textiles and chairman of Banking Committee in Tirupur Exporters Association.
