17-year-old held for stealing five bikes

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday for stealing motorcycles and five motorcycles were recovered from him. Police said they were conducting vehicle check at RS Puram when they stopped the minor boy as his activities seemed suspicious.

He failed to produce any documents of the two-wheeler he was riding and he was picked up for questioning by the police.

He was taken to RS Puram (Crime) police station where he was interrogated. The minor boy from Chetty Street confessed to his crime. He told the police that he was involved in five motorcycle theft cases in RS Puram area. Based on his confession, police have recovered five motorcycles from various people and arrested him on Thursday.

He was remanded in judicial custody in the evening and later was lodged at the juvenile home at the Lakshmi Mills Junction here.
