The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India postpones exams due to elections

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has postponed two exams scheduled for May 15 and 16 to May 21 and 22, respectively, in view of the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.

The ICAI postponed paper 7 of the chartered accountants intermediate (IPC) group II- information technology and strategic management from May 15 to May 21. Paper 8 of chartered accountants final group II- indirect taxes has been postponed from May 16 to May 22.

In a statement, the ICAI said candidates in Alapuzha, Ernakulam, Kannur, Kollam, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Chennai, Coimbatore, Erode, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Salem, Sivakasi, Trichy, Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Tuticorin, Vellore and Puducherry will have to appear for the exams on May 21 and 22.

Candidates in centres other than those in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry will have to write the exams as per the schedule issued on January 19.
