Free computer training programme for persons with hearing impairment

A free computer training programme will be held for persons with hearing impairment by Deaf Leaders Foundation, an organisation for persons with hearing impairment, from April 15. Jointly organised by National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities, Chennai, through the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the trainees will be given Rs. 2,500 a month towards stipend and travelling allowance. Twenty aged between 18 to 35 will be admitted for the five-month programme.

Those having a minimum qualification of a pass in the SSLC are eligible to apply. The last date for applying for the course is April 9. On successful completion of the course placement assistance will also be provided for the candidates.
