Three-day annual flower show in Ooty from May 27

The annual flower show, a major tourist attraction in Udhagamandalam during summer, will begin here from May 27, Horticulture Department Director L. Chitrasenan said today.

The 120th Flower Show will have on display 35 new varieties of Dalia, along with major flowers, displayed in the Government Botanical Gardens, the Director told reporters here.

"Different types of flowers are kept in 15,000 pots, which are being watered and will be ready at the time of show," he said.

Similarly, the 58th Fruit show will be organised at Sim's Park in Coonoor on May 21 and 22.

"However, the vegetable, rose and spices shows, which are organised annually during the first and second week of May, stand cancelled due to Tamil Nadu Assembly elections falling on May 16," Chitrasenan said.
