Mayor Ranganayaki Leads Public Grievance Meeting at Coimbatore Corporation

Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandran chaired a public grievance meeting at Coimbatore Corporation on August 13, 2024. 54 petitions were received from citizens across all zones, addressing various civic issues.


Coimbatore: A public grievance meeting was held at the Coimbatore Corporation main office on August 13, 2024, under the leadership of Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandran. The meeting was attended by Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS and Deputy Mayor R. Vetriselvan.



During the meeting, 54 petitions were received from citizens representing all areas of the corporation. The petitions covered a wide range of issues including requests for birth and death certificates, road facilities, street lighting, water supply, underground drainage, professional tax, property tax, vacant land tax, new water connections, name changes, and various basic amenities related to health, sanitation, and education.



The petitions were distributed across different zones as follows: 7 from the East Zone, 9 from the West Zone, 9 from the North Zone, 6 from the South Zone, 15 from the Central Zone, and 8 from the Main Office.



Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandran instructed the concerned Zonal Assistant Commissioners, Engineers, and officials to take immediate action on these petitions. In a notable instance of prompt action, the Mayor issued an order for address change in response to a petition submitted by Gunasekaran from Gandhi Puram, P.K.R. Nagar in Ward 48 of the Central Zone, regarding water tax and address change.

The meeting was also attended by City Health Officer (in-charge) Dr. K. Boopathi, Town Planning Officer Kumar, Assistant Commissioners Senthilkumaran (Central), Muthusamy (East), Ilangovan (South, in-charge), Sandhya (West), Sridevi (North), Mohanasundari (Administration), Usharani (Accounts), along with other corporation officials and members of the public.
